Alpha Xi Delta

Iota Phi at American University

New Member Program

Our five-to-eight-week Bonds of Sisterhood program helps new members learn about Fraternity and chapter life and the responsibilities of membership. These responsibilities include upholding Alpha Xi Delta ideals and standards, meeting financial obligations, pursuing personal and academic excellence and participating in chapter activities.

Hello!

My name is Erica, and I am the Member Development Vice President of the Iota Phi Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta! I oversee a lot of super important parts of the sorority such as academics, ritual, diversity and inclusion, and retreat. However, I would say the most rewarding part of my position is overseeing our wonderful new member process. This year we welcomed 37 driven, inspiring, hard-working women into our chapter during Formal Recruitment! Since they opened their bids, they have been fully embraced by our sisters through rose dates with older sisters, all-chapter retreat, and sisterhood dinners, just to name a few. It has been an honor to watch them all grow into Alpha Xi and realize their potential as a sorority women.

My favorite part of the new member process when I was a freshman was getting my Big, Jo. She has been a mentor, friend, roommate, and most of all a true sister. Not once during my time in Alpha Xi have I felt the need to be someone I wasn’t, I have only grown as a leader, woman, and student. I encourage each of you to go through formal recruitment and find a sorority that will provide you with the same experience my Sisters and I have had in Alpha Xi Delta

XoXi,

Erica Morin
